How To Contact Us When Off The Grid

Emergency Contact Procedure via Sat Phone

Emergency Contact Procedure

If you are traveling with us, and need to pass on our details to be contacted incase of an emergency you can follow these instructions on how to do so.  There are some rules to follow of course and some care is needed when sending messages to our satellite phone.

Be aware of any time difference from where you are messaging from.  The Alaska Time Zone observes standard time by subtracting nine hours from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC−09:00). During daylight saving time its time offset is eight hours (UTC−08:00). The clock time in this zone is based on mean solar time at the 135th meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory.

Satellite Comms Check

Messages can take up to 6hrs to reach the handset, please wait before sending another message and also check Garmin Inreach Status for any possible transport delays. Link to the Garmin page is on the Contact menu or using the button below.

Log Into Inreach

Head over to our Garmin Inreach page using the button below and login using the supplied password sent via email to participants.

Send Message

When sending a message please do include as much detail as possible, do NOT just say "Hi" or alike. State who your message is for, as much detail as you can and the reason for contact. Replies will come to your mobile phone. DO NOT REPLY TO THE TEXT, you will need to go back to the link and reply on the website.
